Skullgirls Tier List: The Best Characters to Play
If you’re a fan of fighting games, you’ve probably heard of Skullgirls. It’s a 2D fighting game that’s known for its unique art style, varied cast of characters, and fast-paced gameplay. But with so many characters to choose from, it can be difficult to know which ones to focus on. That’s where this Skullgirls tier list comes in – we’ve ranked all of the characters in the game from best to worst, so you can choose the ones that will give you the best chance of victory.
S Tier: The Best of the Best
The characters in the S tier are the cream of the crop. They have the best movesets, the most options, and the highest damage output. If you want to win consistently in Skullgirls, these are the characters you should be playing.
- Filia Filia is the poster child for Skullgirls, and for good reason. She’s fast, versatile, and has some of the best mix-up options in the game. Her combos are easy to execute, but they can deal massive damage if you know how to use them.
- Cerebella Cerebella is a grappler with a twist – she has some of the best mobility options in the game, which makes her even more dangerous up close. Her throws and command grabs are some of the most devastating in the game, and she can even cancel some of her moves into other moves to create even more opportunities for mix-ups.
- Painwheel Painwheel is a bit of a wild card – she’s not the easiest character to play, but in the right hands, she can be absolutely devastating. Her moveset revolves around using her momentum to deal damage, and she has some of the best cross-up options in the game.
A Tier: Strong Choices
The characters in the A tier are also very strong, but they might be a bit more difficult to play effectively than the S tier characters.
- Parasoul Parasoul is a zoning character with a lot of tools at her disposal. She can control the screen with her napalm shots, and her tear projectiles can be used for a variety of purposes, from locking down opponents to setting up combos.
- Valentine Valentine is a rushdown character with a lot of mobility options. She has a unique mechanic that allows her to store up to three syringes, which she can use to heal herself or enhance her moves.
- Eliza Eliza is a character with a lot of versatility. She can transform into a Sekhmet form that gives her access to new moves and enhances her existing ones. She’s also one of the few characters in the game with an air dash, which gives her even more mobility options.
B Tier: Viable Choices
The characters in the B tier are still viable choices, but they might be a bit more limited in terms of options or damage output.
- Big Band Big Band is a character with a lot of armor – he can absorb hits and keep on trucking. He’s also one of the few characters in the game with a dedicated anti-air move, which makes him a good choice against characters with a lot of aerial mobility.
- Fukua Fukua is a clone of Filia, but with a few key differences. She has some unique moves, like a projectile that can be aimed up or down, and she can cancel some of her moves into other moves to create even more opportunities for mix-ups.
- Robo-Fortune Robo-Fortune is a bit of a weird character – she’s a catgirl robot with a lot of unique mechanics.
